Joint ACE I and ACE II meeting to take place in Ghana
A joint Technical and Advisory meeting for the Africa Centers of Excellence under ACE I and ACE II will take place on November 7 – 9th, 2017 in Accra, Ghana (see agenda). This is the first time ACE I and II are holding a joint meeting and it will be an opportunity for regional collaboration and networking, knowledge sharing and planning among the 46 Centers of Excellence.
The Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence initiative was launched by the World Bank and key stakeholders to promote regional specialization among participating universities in areas that address specific common regional development challenges.
The phase one in West and Central Africa (ACE I) started in 2013 with 22 Centers of Excellence and has advanced in implementation. The phase two in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACE II) was launched in 2016 with 24 Centers of Excellence. The upcoming joint meeting will support the Centers to further build their capacity, share experiences and project management knowledge.
